General Piecing and Quilting Classes
BEGINNER: Needs to learn basic rotary cutting skills & vocabulary. Limited or

INTERMEDIATE: Still somewhat new to quilting, but can do independent rotary cutting and strip piecing, understands basic quilting vocabulary and has mastered the 1/4" seam allowance.

ADVANCED: An experienced quilter who has mastered basic skills and can work independently when presented with a new application.

Students need to have basic sewing machine experience. Class minimum is 4, unless stated otherwise. All classes must be signed up and paid for in advance. We invite you to visit the store to see the class samples. We know you'll be inspired to join our ever-growing family of quilting students.

This is one of Debbie Caffrey's more interesting patterns. It is a star with 16 points. Sounds difficult, but Lisa will show you how to make these fascinating blocks. You will finish the quilt on your own.

Take our beginning class and you will have a finished quilt when you are done. In the first four classes you will learn rotary cutting techniques, pressing musts, quilting vocabulary, strip piecing, and basic skills for quilt construction. By the end of the fourth class you will have a completed quilt top. The fifth class is a three hour class where you machine quilt it using a walking foot. The final class is 2 hours and you will bind your quilt - now a finished project!
Package Fee Includes: 6 classes for a total of 14 class hours AND a fabric kit to complete the quilt top and binding

This class is using the reproduction block of the month series which started in May. It is a traditional sampler with many traditional blocks and applique. There are no kits left, but you can use your own fabric and join the class in progress.     INTERMEDIATE

Choose from the Christmas Sampler, the Halloween Sampler, or the Patriotic Sampler.  Chris will show you new tools to make old blocks even easier. This fun sampler has so many techniques to learn. It's not your Grandma's Sampler any more.  INTERMEDIATE

Have you heard of the new x-block tool?  This innovative tool will turn a simple 7-patch block into this cute pinwheel.  Save the trimmings from the pinwheel quilt and you can make a second quilt on your own. INTERMEDIATE

Grab your passport and hold onto your seats for this wild ride to Boston.   Find a partner ~ one person will sew and the other will cut and press - such teamwork.  On the first day you will cut, sew, and press. Class is over at noon, but you will have additional sewing to do to get ready for Sunday.  The classroom will remain open for you to "stay and sew". At the end of the second day you'll have two completed quilt tops. This class promises to be a fun happening. Sign up early as space is limited.       INTERMEDIATE

CURVES & CORNERS  $20 + pattern

This class will focus on cutting and sewing a drunkard's path block.  You will use a template for cutting and you will wonder why you were afraid to sew curves.  Chris will make it easy for you.  After this class you'll be ready to tackle one of the many patterns that use a drunkard's path.  INTERMEDIATE

LARGE LONE STAR

Chris will show you how tostrip piece this beautiful lone star.  You can then finish it to be a tablecloth, a throw, or a full size quilt.  You may even want to turn it into a treeskirt.  As usual Chris will fill her class with tips and techniques not included in the pattern. INTERMEDIATE

Learn a variety of traditional
quilting techniques while becoming a confident quilter.  There are 6 original blocks in this series and 6 companion blocks which add a degree of difficulty to the original blocks.
